'Elastic Heart' by Sia

Representation of females:
This music video experienced a lot of controversy as some believed it have pedophilloic elements due to the young girl dancing with an older grown man. This presents the young girl as vulnerable linking to Laura Mulvey's theory of the Male Gaze. If some audience members encode the video as pedophilloic it suggests the girl is there for the man as he has control.

'Do I Wanna Know?' by Artic Monkeys

Representation of females:
Although this video is animated it presents females very sexually. Nearly all the characters in this video are female and are shown wearing little to no clothing, they are seen in positions such as lying on a car or posing, there is also shots of their lips and other intimate body parts. The lack of men in the video alongside the presentation of the females suggests females are only desirable when sexualised once again linking to Laura Mulvey.

'Greek Tragedy' by The Wombats

Representation of females:
The music video features a crazed fan girl who stalks and then kills the band and sets them up as if they are performing for her. The female character is presented as psychotic, crazy and mentally unstable, as well as a murderer. Elements of this are atypical for example, a woman obsessing over a man is typically presented. However, although she is seen as crazy she does kill and capture three men placing them as the victims which is atypical to most texts.

'Girls' by The 1975

Sexualisation of females:
In the video the women are seen wearing little clothing compared to the men who are fully dressed. They are also seen wearing red lipstick which arguably can be seen as a sexualised colour and object.
