Sound
Sound is one of the most important ways to create a story in a media text. It allows the story to move along and let the audience know what is happening without them having to see anything.
There are six types of sound:

- Non-diagetic- Sound the characters can't hear
- Music
- Diagetic- Sound in the scene
- Dialogue
- Foley-Sound a human makes
- Sound effects
In the lesson we focused on a movie clip and listened for the different sounds used.
Sounds used:
- Intense music
- Metal door opening
- Police sirens
- Glass breaking
- Airplanes taking off
- Lorry horn
- Explosions
- Groaning
- Seatbelt click
- Loading a gun
- Airport speaker
- Buttons on phone/key board
- Dialogue (ADR- Actual Dialogue Replacement)
All these sounds added to the setting, allowed the story to move along and created emotion and tension for the audience.
